Zamda Mukecuru

On our cover this Sunday is Zamda Mukecuru who is the very embodiment of Rwanda’s fashion glamour and grace.
This fashionista lady is one of the country’s hardworking and innovative women, who don’t wait to be spoon-fed, despite their beauty.

She runs a shop, which is named after her ‘Sparkling @ Zamda’s’; located in the Kigali city.

Zamda ventured into the business two years ago, with the aim of contributing to the development of Rwanda’s budding fashion industry, as well as improving on her standard of living.

Zamda says Rwandans appreciate style, but they need a few fashion tips to understand it in a better way.
"I try to educate my clients what is perfect for them. The point of style is to look elegant and smart, but not exhibit the body,” she advises.

The idea of style has been going strong lately in Rwanda, with locals venturing into the business, and giving us the latest trends each season.

Some Rwandans have admitted a must-have outfit, or accessory is a higher priority than paying the rent.
