Clubs are continuing to make moves during the current transfer window. Among the new developments, Kiyovu Sports have signed striker Moïse Lola Kanda from Gicumbi FC on a two-year contract.
The Congolese forward was one of the standout attackers in the 2025/26 BK League, scoring eight goals and providing one assist for Gicumbi.
Kiyovu secured his signature after he became a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Gicumbi.
Lola Kanda arrives with experience from across the region, having featured for CARA FC in Congo-Brazzaville, JS Group Bazano in DR Congo, and Zambia's ZESCO United and Green Eagles.
He is Kiyovu's first signing ahead of the new season. The club has also renewed the contracts of Djihad Nzeyurwanda, David Byiringiro 'Kamoso', Chérif Bayo, Keddy Nsanzimfura and Regis Mboningabo for two more years.
In other transfer news, Bugesera FC are considering Moussa Gatera as they search for a new head coach ahead of the upcoming season. Gatera recently left AS Muhanga after the club was relegated to the second division at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Sources indicate Bugesera are taking their time over the appointment, while former coach Camalade Banamwana, who has been linked with Sunrise FC, reportedly remains under consideration.
Gatera has previously coached Espoir FC, Gorilla FC and Rutsiro FC.
At APR FC, right-back Jean Gilbert Byiringiro has reportedly attracted interest from Sudanese side Al-Merrikh SC. Al-Merrikh are coached by Darko Nović, who was in charge of APR last season. Tanzanian club Azam FC are also said to be monitoring the defender.
Byiringiro joined APR two years ago and has one year remaining on his contract, with an option to extend.
At Bugesera FC, the club has mutually terminated the contract of Nigerian striker Umar Abba.
Abba missed the entire 2025/26 season after suffering an ankle fracture. He returned to Bugesera in January following a brief spell in Saudi Arabia.
Before the injury, he scored three goals in six league matches and finished as the top scorer in the 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League.
