RSSB Tigers became the first Rwandan club to qualify for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) final since its inception in 2021 after eliminating former champions Al Ahly SC of Egypt.

Making their BAL debut following APR’s late withdrawal from the competition, the Tigers secured a historic 106-97 victory over the Egyptian giants in the first semifinal played at BK Arena on Wednesday.

Thousands of fans packed the arena to witness the Rwandan side make history on home soil, with President Paul Kagame among those in attendance.

In-form guard Craig Randall led the Tigers with 32 points, while center Oumar Ballo added 20 points as the hosts held off Al Ahly in a thrilling semifinal clash.
