Intayoberana Cultural Troupe, one of Rwanda’s leading traditional dance groups, has announced a cultural concert dubbed ‘Gira u Rwanda’, set to take place on July 25 at the big tent of Kigali Serena Hotel.
The phrase Gira u Rwanda is a traditional Rwandan expression used as a peaceful greeting and goodwill message to Rwandans and friends of Rwanda alike.
According to the troupe’s management, the concert aims to celebrate and promote Rwandan identity through traditional dance, music, storytelling and intergenerational mentorship, while also encouraging youth empowerment and cultural preservation.
"It’s our duty as a traditional troupe to preserve our culture and promote it across the board,” the troupe said in a statement, describing the event as an opportunity to reconnect audiences with Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage.
"We also want to encourage the younger generation to work hard and never give up, because you only achieve what you fight for.”
The troupe has already begun intensive daily rehearsals ahead of the performance and promised audiences an unforgettable night of cultural celebration and artistic innovation.
"Our audience should expect a concert full of creativity and dance innovation — everything culture lovers have been missing from traditional performances,” said one member of Intayoberana.
Tickets for the concert are available via Sinc Events at Rwf10,000, Rwf20,000, Rwf25,000 (consumable), and Rwf200,000 (VIP consumable package).
