Prime Minister Justin Nsengiyumva arrived in Djibouti on Friday, May 9, where he will represent President Paul Kagame at the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Ismail Omar Guelleh on Saturday.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister, Nsengiyumva was received upon arrival by his Djiboutian Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed.

The visit comes weeks after President Kagame congratulated Guelleh on his re-election in a phone conversation held on April 12, reaffirming Rwanda’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties with the Horn of Africa nation.
Kagame said he looked forward to continuing close collaboration to advance the two countries’ shared priorities for growth and prosperity.

Guelleh, 78, secured another five-year term after winning 97.8 per cent of the vote in Djibouti’s April 10 presidential election, according to preliminary results. Voter turnout was reported at over 80 per cent.
Rwanda and Djibouti have strengthened diplomatic and economic relations over the years, with cooperation expanding through the sectors of agriculture, tourism, information and communication technology, as well as investment.
