Saint Patrick’s Day was celebrated in style on Friday, March 19, at Kigali Serena Hotel.

The Irish community in Rwanda, together with several Rwandan dignitaries, and friends joined the rest of the world to mark this day that is associated with everything Irish: Green and gold, shamrock and luck.

There was a raffle, where all proceeds went to help Rwandan children living with HIV/Aids.

Tickets were sold at Rwf2000 and Rfw5000 respectively and the lucky winners took home lots of prizes ranging from Blackberry’s, Nokia E-series courtesy of MTN, vouchers to spend  nights in Kigali and Kivu Serena Hotels, dinners at Lalibel, Ethiopian Restaurant, car batteries, tires, servicing at Akagera Motors and the grand prize of a return ticket to any destination in Europe from Kenya Airways.

Nonetheless, the delicious dinner, drinks of all brands, and live bands made the night fantastic.
