Rwanda’s Shanel, last Friday excited Ugandans when she curtain raised during the album launch of Mesach Semakula—one of Uganda’s biggest artists.

According to ‘The Observer”, a Ugandan newspaper, fans crowded Hotel Africana to capacity for Semakula’s "Taliiyo” album launch.

"Shanel is a disciplined and talented artist—that’s why I chose her over other Rwandan musicians,” Mesach Semakula told The New Times on phone.

In response, Shanel said, "I was so honoured to participate in his launch; it was a great experience for me and I learnt a lot of things including how to handle myself on stage.”

Shanel added that: "Now that Rwanda is part of the East African Community, Rwandan artists have to work harder, in order to compete with the other regional artists even though they have sponsorship, which we lack.”

Meanwhile, Shanel has collaborated with Semakula in, "Ndagukunda,” a song produced by Kann Records.
