The Rwanda National Police and Kenya National Police Service have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation following high-level discussions between their leadership.
The Inspector General of the Rwanda National Police, CG Felix Namuhoranye, on Tuesday, March 24, met with his Kenyan counterpart, Douglas Kanja, in Nairobi.
Their discussions focused on enhancing collaboration through exchange programmes aimed at sharing and benchmarking best policing practices for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The two leaders also explored the possibility of formalising the partnership through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to guide future cooperation. They further discussed joint strategies to combat transnational and emerging crimes, underscoring the importance of regional and international collaboration in addressing evolving security threats.

Namuhoranye extended an invitation to IG Kanja to attend the upcoming Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Rwanda National Police, scheduled to take place in May.
As part of his visit, Namuhoranye and his delegation toured key police training institutions in Kenya, including the National Police Service Senior Staff College – Emali and the National Police College – Kiganjo. At both institutions, he engaged with directing staff and trainees, with discussions centred on aligning training programmes with the demands of a modern and evolving policing environment.
