OLIVIER Karekezi is poised on a move to South Africa’s Premier league side Kaizer Chiefs after completing a trial stint at the club.

However, it is still unclear whether the 28-year-old caught the eye of Kaizer Chiefs head coach Vladimir Vermezovic although sources close to the club indicate that the striker has a chance.

"He is very aggressive and quite useful on the ball,” a source revealed to SuperSport.com.

"Frankly, I cannot confirm whether he has done enough to impress the coach or not. The coach will decide whether he needs to have another look at him or not, it is hard to tell at this stage.”

In the past, Karekezi has played for APR and Norwegian side Ham Kam. Towards the end of last year, the former Amavubi striker was also linked with moves to English Championship side Nottingham Forest and Egypt’s Al-Ahly.

Karekezi has played 47 times for Amavubi scoring six goals.
