First Lady Jeannette Kagame on Sunday, March 8, joined women and residents during Kigali Car Free Day mass sports as Rwanda marked International Women’s Day.
The 2026 celebration was held under the theme "Empowered Women, Stronger Nation.” The special Car Free Day highlighted women, wellness, and community spirit, with participants taking part in walking, jogging, cycling, and group exercises.
Among the dignitaries who joined the activities were Speaker of Parliament Gertrude Kazarwa,Ines Mpambara, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Minister of Sports Nelly Mukazayire, and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Charity Manyeruke, who is also Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Rwanda, as well as representatives of United Nations agencies in Rwanda.
