Rwanda clinched the FIFA Series 2026 trophy after beating Estonia 2-0 in Group A final before a packed Amahoro Stadium on Monday. Abeddy Biramahire and Leroy Jacques Mickels scored in either half for the hosts to secure first win ever against a European country. Mickels, who just made his Amavubi debut at the International Friendly tournament, was named Group A best player. The final match was attended by President Paul Kagame. Rwanda hosted the FIFA Series for the first time in 2026, featuring eight teams—Rwanda, Aruba, Macau, Kenya, Liechtenstein, Tanzania, Grenada and Estonia—over four days at Kigali Pele Stadium and Amahoro Stadium. Meanwhile, on Sunday at Kigali Pele Stadium, ten-man Aruba produced a dominant performance to claim the FIFA Series 2026 Group B title with a 4–1 victory over Liechtenstein. The New Times photographer Olivier Mugwiza covered the final game between Rwanda and Estonia and captured some highlights.
