CAR: Rwandan peacekeepers celebrate Women’s Day with residents of Bria

Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) on Sunday, March 8, joined fellow peacekeepers and residents of Bria town to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The event brought together peacekeepers and members of the local community to highlight the importance of promoting women’s rights and gender equality.

Speaking during the event, the vice governor of Haute Kotto Prefecture, Brahim Abdoulaye, called for concrete action to advance women’s rights.

He stressed the need to ensure women have access to essential services and justice, noting that such efforts are key to building inclusive and peaceful communities.

The participation of Rwandan peacekeepers in the celebrations also underscored their commitment to supporting peace efforts and protecting civilians from all forms of violence, according to Rwanda Defence Force (RDF.)
