IN a bid to recapture the women national football league title from AS Kigali, APR have boosted their squad with three Ugandan internationals.

The trio includes She-Cranes captain Christine Wanyana (defender), Sylvia Nagawa (midfielder) and Fatuma Nakakande (striker).

The three joined the military side last week and were involved in APR’s 11-1 walloping of Rubavu on Sunday.

Wanyana was rock solid at the back while Nagawa and Nakakande showed their prowess in an outstanding offensive display that saw APR putting eleven goals past a hapless Rubavu side.

AS Kigali did not sit back after APR’s recruitment. The reigning champions responded by snapping up Ugandan international defender Gertrude Nakitto.

And the stopper made an immediate impact scoring her team’s first goal in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Les Lionnes. Mefya Hakizimana and Faida Sonya got the other goals.

AS Kigali lead the league log with 12 points, followed by APR with 10 points.
