MUSANZE — The Governor of the Northern Province, Aime Bosenibamwe during a visit to Ruhengeri 1930 prison  advised inmates to be disciplined while serving their sentences.

Speaking to over 2400 inmates on Monday, Bosenibamwe said the inmates should plan on being exemplary within their communities once they are done with their sentences.

"Your time in prison should not be viewed as the end of life, but a preparation for the outside environment when you get out,’’ he said.

The inmates took advantage of the Governor’s visit to raise concerns over delayed trials and poor conditions. They also requested for regular updates on the country’s progress.

The governor, who was meeting the prisoners for the first time, also warned them against entertaining politicians with ‘divisionary ideologies’.
