CONFIRMED THE DEVELOPMENT: Augustin Nkusi

An Asian man of Indian origin who was re-arrested on Tuesday for issuing several bouncing cheques is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday next week.

Agustin Nkusi, the National Public Prosecution Authority (NPPA) spokesperson confirmed the development yesterday when contacted.

Nkusi also revealed that Naval N. Mrdul had appeared in Nyarugenge First instance court on Wednesday but the case was adjourned after he requested for more time to get a lawyer.

"He had no lawyer and he requested court to grant him time to get one,” Nkusi said.

"He was remanded until Wednesday when the same court will proceed with the case,” he added.

Mrdul, currently detained at Muhima Police station, is accused of issuing bouncing cheques amounting to over Rwf11 million.
