The recent FERWABA Super Cup triumph has provided fresh motivation for Tigers Basketball Club, whose focus now shifts to the 2026 Rwanda Basketball League season.
Tigers claimed the Super Cup 2026 after a convincing 78–68 victory over reigning champions APR at BK Arena on Friday, February 6. It marked the club’s second trophy—after the Rwanda Cup—since head coach Henry Mwinuka took charge in 2025.
The Tigers will open their league campaign against Kepler on Wednesday, February 11, at Petit Stade.

Tigers are widely tipped to mount a serious title challenge this season following a significant roster overhaul, which saw the club bring in several high-profile players from both locally and abroad.
"Our attention has now turned to the new season,” Mwinuka said.
"We are going to play against a team like Kepler, who have experience and have also added new blood. It will be a difficult game, but we are well prepared.”
While pleased with the Super Cup success, Mwinuka stressed that the bigger challenge lies ahead.

"We started the year well by winning the Super Cup, but the journey is just beginning. The team is in good shape, although not all the players have fully adapted to each other yet. From game to game, however, we are getting better.”
After their opener against Kepler, Tigers will face Patriots on February 15 before taking on Rwanda Energy Group (REG) on February 20.
