Rwandan shooting guard Henriette Uwimpuhwe has signed a two-year contract with Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Women’s Basketball Club, strengthening the reigning champions ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old joins REG after spending three seasons at Kepler, where she played a key role in the club’s runners-up finish last season. Uwimpuhwe enjoyed an outstanding 2025 campaign, finishing as Kepler’s top scorer with 476 points.

Born in 2000, Uwimpuhwe has firmly established herself as one of the league’s most prolific shooting guards. Her consistent performances in both domestic and continental competitions have earned her several individual accolades.

In 2021, she was named the league’s Most Improved Player, reflecting her rapid development and growing influence on the court. Two years later, in 2023, she topped the scoring charts as the highest scorer of the league season, finishing with over 400 points.

Uwimpuhwe now joins arguably the strongest club in the country, with REG currently holding the title of women’s national basketball league champions. Beyond domestic dominance, REG also competes on the continental stage, representing Rwanda in elite competitions such as the Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA).
