Rayon Sports are reportedly in talks with three players: Yannick Mukunzi, Faustin Usengimana and Yves Mugunga, as they seek to strengthen their squad ahead of the second round of the Rwanda Premier League.
The Blues are said to be close to signing Rwandan international midfielder Mukunzi, who is currently a free agent after leaving Sweden’s Sandvikens IF at the end of last year. Mukunzi has previously played for both APR and Rayon Sports.
Rayon Sports are also considering a move for striker Mugunga, who has featured for APR and Gorilla FC, as well as former Amavubi defender Faustin Usengimana.
Usengimana came through the Rayon Sports ranks and has since played for APR, Police FC, Isonga, Khaitan SC, Buildcon, Al-Qasim SC and Masafi Al-Wasat SC.
Elsewhere, Tunisian coach Afahmia Lotfi and Englishman Mark Harrison are among the candidates to take over as head coach of Amagaju FC, following the departure of Amars Niyongabo.
Amagaju recently parted ways with Niyongabo and his technical team after an 8-0 defeat to Al Hilal SC. The Southern Province club is now searching for a coach to guide them, particularly during the relegation play-offs.
Lotfi, who was dismissed by Rayon Sports in November 2025, is being considered after previously impressing with Mukura VS. Harrison, who has coached several African clubs including Gor Mahia (Kenya), CAPS United (Zimbabwe) and Township Rollers (Botswana), is also in contention.
Meanwhile, Ugandan coach Ivan Ntambi has joined Sunrise Football Club as first assistant on a six-month deal.
The Nyagatare-based Division Two side currently sit third in Group B, behind Sina Gerard and Etoile de l’Est. Ntambi brings experience from spells with Lady Doves (women’s football), Blacks Power, Arua Hill, Express FC, and Tanzania’s Pamba Sports Club.
