APR FC moved to two points within the reach of the top of the Rwanda Premier League table after beating Amagaju 1-0 in a match played at Muhanga Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Full-back Fitina Ombarenga scored the goal in the 65th to secure an important win for the champions, who still have two matches in hand.
APR dominated the game and they could have scored many goals but the military side failed to use their chances.
With the win, they moved to 31 points, just two behind Police FC who are leading the table.
Amagaju FC have played 17 matches this season, winning three, drawing three, and losing 11. In the last five matches, Amagaju FC lost four and drew one.
Amagaju last won a match in the Rwanda Premier League when they beat AS Muhanga 1-0. Amagaju FC is the team that has scored the fewest goals, having scored only six goals in the matches they have played so far.
APR FC has played 15 matches this season, winning nine, drawing five and losing one.
In the last 12 games between the two teams APR FC won eight, drew three, while Amagaju won one game.
