Rayon Sports President Abdallah Murenzi has expressed confidence ahead of his side’s league match against Al Hilal scheduled for this weekend, saying the team is ready to bounce back after their recent defeat to APR FC.
"I am confident that we will play well in the game we have this weekend," he told the club’s media.
"We will play against a strong team, but we are also strong. We will try to see that the joy that our fans did not get in the APR FC game can be found in the game we have with Al Hilal," he added.
The ‘Blues’ will host Al Hilal at Kigali Pelé Stadium on January 16 at 5:30PM.
Al Hilal come into the match on the back of an emphatic 8-0 win over Amagaju FC.
Rayon Sports will be without Asman Ndikumana, who is suspended by head coach Bruno Ferry.
Murenzi said the team drew important lessons from the 4-1 loss to APR FC in the FERWAFA Super Cup.
He noted that while the squad has quality players, they are still adjusting to each other under a new coach, and improvements are expected.
"What one can appreciate is that individually, we have good players, what remains is to see how they are integrated."
The ‘Blues’ have faced financial and leadership challenges, which Murenzi says his committee is working to address.
Currently ninth on the table with 24 points, Rayon Sports need to win their matches to continue climbing higher on the log.
