Rwanda came from behind to narrowly defeat Cameroon 27–26 in an international friendly match played at BK Arena on Sunday, January 10, as both teams continued preparations for the upcoming 27th Men’s Senior Handball Africa Cup of Nations.

Cameroon went into halftime with a narrow 10–8 lead, but Rwanda responded strongly in the second half. After making tactical adjustments, head coach Hafedh Zouabi’s side turned the game around to claim a one-goal victory.

The friendly was part of a series of build-up matches ahead of the continental tournament, which will be hosted in Kigali from January 21-31.

Rwanda has now played two preparation matches, registering one win and one loss. They were beaten 31–29 by Gabon in their opening friendly on Thursday, January 8.

Rwanda and Gabon are scheduled to face each other again in another friendly on Thursday, January 15, at 7:00 PM CAT, once again at BK Arena.

At the Handball Africa Cup of Nations, Rwanda will compete in Group A alongside Zambia, Algeria, and Nigeria.
