Police FC’s Rwanda Premier League title hopes suffered a setback after being held to a goalless draw by SC Kiyovu at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Sunday.

Both sides created several scoring opportunities in an entertaining first half, but solid goalkeeping at both ends ensured the teams went into the break level.

Police came close to breaking the deadlock in the 70th minute through Elijah Ani, but his effort was well handled by the SC Kiyovu defence.

Kiyovu were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 78th minute when the referee awarded them a penalty. However, Abdallah Rukundo’s spot kick was brilliantly saved by Police goalkeeper Onesme Rukundo.

The draw leaves Police FC at the top of the standings with 34 points from 17 matches, although their lead could come under threat if APR FC, Al Merrikh, or Al Hilal win their remaining games. SC Kiyovu remain fourth with 26 points.

Elsewhere, Musanze FC registered an emphatic 3–1 victory over Marines FC at Ubworoherane Stadium. Hussein Shaban Tshabalala scored a brace in the 7th and 67th minutes, while Charles Nonso added a third just before halftime in the 43rd minute. Mubarak Nizeyimana scored a late consolation goal for Marines in the 73rd minute.

In Rubavu, Bugesera FC came from behind to claim a 2–1 win over Etincelles FC at Umuganda Stadium. Etincelles took the lead through Hussein Nsabimana in the 42nd minute, but Bugesera responded strongly in the second half. Goals from Aki Naibe and Daniel Barnabas in the 64th and 67th minutes sealed all three points for Camalade Banamwana’s side.
