APR FC continued their recent dominance over rivals Rayon Sports with an emphatic 4-1 victory in the 2025 FERWAFA Super Cup, played on Saturday at Amahoro Stadium.
The army side has now asserted clear control of the derby in recent months, having also registered a convincing 3-0 league win over the Blues at the same venue in November.
APR took the lead in the 19th minute through William Togui Mel before Ronald Ssekiganda doubled the advantage with a powerful header, rising above Ramazani Tshimanga Tshilembi to convert a pinpoint cross from Memel Dao.
After the break, APR maintained control and extended their lead in the 70th minute. Ghanaian midfielder Dauda Yussif dribbled past the Rayon Sports defense, including Yannick Bangala, before calmly slotting past goalkeeper Kwizera.
Rayon Sports pulled one back in stoppage time through Asman Ndikumana in the 90 3rd minute, briefly raising hopes of a late rally. However, APR quickly restored their three-goal cushion two minutes later.

Bosco Ruboneka surged into the penalty area, rounded Kwizera—who went to ground—and squared the ball to Mamadou Sy. The Mauritanian striker made no mistake, tapping into an empty net to seal the 4-1 triumph.
In addition to lifting the trophy, APR FC pocketed Rwf20 million in prize money.
Earlier, Rayon Sports Women also claimed silverware after winning the Women’s Super Cup with a dominant 4-0 victory over Indahangarwa WFC. Emeline Mukagatete, Odette Coralie Ngwema, Jeanette Ukwikunda, and Emerance Niyonshuti all found the net as the Blues secured their second consecutive Super Cup title.
Runners-up Rayon Sports FC (men) and Indahangarwa WFC (women) each received Rwf10 million.
