The Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) has reported ‘strong’ early performance for the 2025/2026 fiscal year.
RRA reported that it had collected Rwf1.45 billion between July and November, reaching 100.5 per cent of the projection for period.
This comes on the back of last year’s results, where RRA exceeded its 2024/2025 revenue target by 2 per cent, collecting over Rwf 3.2 trillion. The achievement was announced during the 2025 Taxpayer Appreciation Day on December 12, when the most compliant taxpayers were recognised.

Held under a theme, "Sora Nsore Twigire”, loosely translated to let’s pay taxes for our self-reliance, the event recognised individuals and businesses across several categories, highlighting their commitment to fulfilling tax obligations.
The awards included Best Consumer, Best Importer & Exporter, Best Electric Billing Machine (EBM) Users, Best in Local Government Taxes, and the best performers in business segments ranging from Large, Medium, Small, and Micro enterprises.

In Kigali Tax Centres, BPR Bank Rwanda Plc was named the Best Large Taxpayer, while Yussa Company Ltd topped the Medium Taxpayer category.
Landy Industries Ltd emerged as the Best Small Taxpayer, and Cultural Capital Rwanda R&D Ltd led the Micro Taxpayer category.
Two individuals, Joram Mugwaneza from Gasabo District and Ruth Mukantabana from Nyarugenge District, were also honoured for their outstanding contribution to Local Government Taxes.

In the import and export categories, SORWATOM Ltd was recognised as Best Importer, while FG Investment took the award for Best Exporter.
Excellence in the use of Electronic Billing Machines (EBMs) was also acknowledged across provinces. D.D.B Ltd was recognised in Southern Province, Nzafamico Ltd in Northern Province, Sosergi Company Ltd in Western Province, and 3P Initiative Ltd in Eastern Province.
In the City of Kigali, Sanlam Allianz General Insurance and Société Pétrolière Ltd were named top performers. The Best Consumer award went to Maniragaba Elissa from the City of Kigali.
Longstanding excellence was also celebrated. MTN Rwandacell Plc and Bank of Kigali received honorary recognition for maintaining top taxpayer status for ten consecutive years.
Those with three consecutive years of recognition included Jean Bosco Nkundunkundiye in Local Government Taxes from Gasabo District, Rwanda Charity Eye Hospital in the medium taxpayer category, and Pfunda Tea Company Ltd under the Rubavu Tax Centre.
