Alarm Ministries, one of Rwanda’s pioneering gospel music and evangelical groups, celebrated 26 years of praise and worship during a special event dubbed the ‘Iyo Niyo Data Live Concert’ held on November 30 at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV).

The concert drew a large crowd of worshippers who came to honor the ministry’s legacy and spiritual impact. Unlike previous editions, this year’s celebration featured only Alarm Ministries, with no guest artistes taking the stage.

Dorcas, sister of Vestine, and her manager Irene Mulindahabi also attended the concert

In attendance were several renowned gospel figures, including Richard Nick Ngendahayo, Dorcas Kamikazi, Prosper Nkomezi, Israel Mbonyi, and veteran music manager Alex Muyoboke, among others.

Backed by their full band, Alarm Ministries performed a series of their most beloved songs, such as Iyo Niyo Data, Yesu Aracyakiza, Humura Nshuti, Iyi Ntwari Ninde, and Aragukunda, lifting the atmosphere into powerful worship.

It was after the first session that the group paused for a brief sermon delivered by Apostle Christophe Sebagabo, who preached on the concert’s theme "Iyo Niyo Data”—"He Is My Father.”

"There are four reasons why we say Niyo Data and why it carries so much weight,” Sebagabo explained.

"God created us in His image. Out of grace—not obligation—He formed us, gave us our bodies, and the wisdom to discern right from wrong. He forgave our sins through His Son Jesus. He clothed us with righteousness, covering every mistake. He removed our sins forever and gave us eternal life.”

Sebagabo urged believers to anchor their faith in salvation, saying, "Everything we do is meaningless if we have not welcomed Jesus Christ as the Savior and King of our lives through baptism.”

The second set featured more fan-favorites, including Juru Wategeka, Yahweh, and Wambereye Agakiza, closing the evening with a strong, heartfelt worship session as attendees sang along.

"Hearing the ministry sing about grace reminded me that no matter what we go through, God restores and rebuilds us. I left the concert feeling renewed,” said Anitha Uwase, one of the attendees.

"What touched me most was the message of God’s forgiveness.”

Registered legally in 2009, Alarm Ministries established its headquarters in Remera Sector, Gasabo District. What began as a small local choir has since expanded into an international gospel organisation.

The group has recorded 11 albums and produced more than 400 songs, including several unreleased pieces.

Beyond music, the ministry runs community outreach programs focused on gender-based violence prevention in Rulindo District and support for reintegrated children. Its influence has shaped the local gospel industry, inspiring new choirs and ministries.
