KIBUYE were almost made to pay for a lapse in concentration when they conceded two late goals against Pepiniere in one of eight second division games played over the weekend.

The Western province side got off to a bright start when they scored three goals in the first half.

Strikes from Hassan Sasha, Jerome Muhire and Jean Paul Uwimana gave the relegated side a healthy half-time lead but the contest was far from over as Pepiniere backed by a vibrant home crowd fought back with two goals in the last 25 minutes to set up a nervous finish for Kibuye.

"It was a good lesson for us because we put ourselves under immense pressure by conceding two quick goals,” Kibuye’s coach Hamza Rwabukwisi noted.

In other Group B ties, Nyanza picked up their second win of the campaign after a 2-1 victory over Aspor. Sorwathe thrashed Intare 3-0 while Etoile de l’Est needed a late goal to see off a resilient Zebres side in a five-goal thriller (3-2).

Union and Stella Maris thumped Espoir and National University of Rwanda (UNR) 3-0 respectively, while Muhanga were held to a goalless draw by Interforce in Group B.
