Muhanga gets new vice mayor

MUHANGA – Innocent Ryumugabe has been elected as the new Vice mayor in charge of economic affairs in Muhanga district. The elections were held at Gitarama stadium on Wednesday. The district electoral council massively voted for Ryumugabe with 176 votes, massively beating his opponent Thierry Mugiraneza who got only 28 votes.

MUHANGA – Innocent Ryumugabe has been elected as the new Vice mayor in charge of economic affairs in Muhanga district.

The elections were held at Gitarama stadium on Wednesday. The district electoral council massively voted for Ryumugabe with 176 votes, massively beating his opponent Thierry Mugiraneza who got only 28 votes.

Ryumugabe has been serving as the Executive Secretary of Shogwe sector. He replaces Abedi Ruzigana Kizito- who died in a road accident on October 18, at the Munyinya junction, along the Kigali-Butare highway.

Ryumugabe was welcomed to the new post by the district Mayor Yvonne Mutakwasuku after taking the oath of office.

The newly elected vice mayor promised to work hard and to foster cooperation to bridge the gap between leaders and residents towards development.
