Marines 0-1 AS Kigali

Striker Jacques Tuyisenge scored the lone goal of the game as AS Kigali FC registered a 1-0 win over struggling Marine FC Monday at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu to close the gap on league leaders Rayon within just two points.

The Rwanda international made the difference early in the 16th minute with a powerful strike from close range to give his side three important points.

Marines started strongly and dominated the game early in the first half but their attack struggled to capitalize chances before AS Kigali goalie Fredrick Odhiambo.

Andre Casa Mbungo’s men looked very dangerous on counter attacks which were crucial to scoring the only goal that separated the two sides in Rubavu.

The victory comes as a huge boost to AS Kigali ahead of their crunch tie against APR on December 8 at Kigali Stadium.

The result saw APR drop to fourth on the league table with 19 points, a point adrift of third-placed AS Kigali.

Rayon Sports continue to lead the table with 22 points with SC Kiyovu coming second with 21 points despite suffering a shock 3-1 defeat to Gasogi United on Sunday.
