Alpha shares x-mas with street children

Alpha Rwirangira, the Tusker Project Fame 3 winner yesterday donated food items worth over Rwf290, 000 and remitted a cheque of Rwf200, 000 to the Centre for Street Children (CSC).

Alpha Rwirangira, the Tusker Project Fame 3 winner yesterday donated food items worth over Rwf290, 000 and remitted a cheque of Rwf200, 000 to the Centre for Street Children (CSC).

CSC is a project that assists street children. It currently helps over 300 street children in Muhima sector Nyarugenge district.

The food items included bags of rice, maize flour, beans and sugar together with an assortment of other commodities.

Alpha who was accompanied by Cynthia Akazuba, the winner of the East African beauty contest said that the donation was away of sharing Christmas with the former street children.

"It’s my nature, I love children but it was very difficult for me to support them but now that I can afford, I want to support them,” said Alpha who bagged Rwf35 million from the regional music reality show.

Alpha said in an interview that he plans to open a bank account for street children and later organize a concert in collaboration with other Rwandan artists to support orphans.

Alpha became the first Rwandan and the first male contestant to win the competition since its inception in 2007.
