• Hoteliers want Kigali-Musanze road constructed

Hotel workers from Musanze and Rubavu districts on Friday completed a Rwanda Development Board (RDB) sponsored course on customer care. The course is offered by the Work force Development Agency (WDA)

The graduates were awarded certificates of participation in different disciplines including front desk management, food & beverages and culinary art.

"I have learnt a lot mainly in my service delivery standards; I have to admit that my services were not good, but now, I am going to use my acquired skills,” said Euphrasie Tuyishimire, an employee of Gorillas Hotel.

WDA has been mandated to offer trainings in critical areas of technical and vocational expertise, especially in tourism, to bridge the skills gap in the country

The Director General of WDA, Dr. Jean Damascene Gatabazi, called upon hoteliers to give a chance to the trainees to use the skills they acquired to change hotel services in their areas.

Rubavu Police Commander, Inspector Marcel Kalisa, noted that good customer care is important in ensuring the security of the customer. He urged the trainees to always be security conscious when receiving customers.

He added that it is important that they share information regarding security risks

Speaking on the occasion, Barthazar Nshimiyimana, who represented the hoteliers, requested the government to do everything possible to rehabilitate the Kigali -Musanze road since it is the most visited area in the country.
