Africa will have the highest number of nationalities at the upcoming UCI Road World Championships coming to the continent for the first time.
According to Rwanda’s Minister of Sports, Nelly Mukazayire, 38 out of the 110 participating countries are from Africa. The championships will take place in Kigali from September 21 to 28.
"Nations representing Africa form one of the largest groups. This highlights the continent’s growing presence in global cycling,” said Mukazayire.
Following Africa are Europe with 35 countries, the Americas with 20, Asia with 16, and Oceania with three.
