Friends and family of Rwandan artiste Niyo Bosco witnessed a colorful evening of romance when he surprised his fiancée Irene Mukamisha with an engagement ring and proposed her to marry him.

The special event took place at La Palisse Hotel Gashora in Bugesera District in the evening of Wednesday, September 17.

Footages that circulated on social media show the artiste singing the name of his fiancée before she said ‘Yes’ to confirm his marriage proposal.

"Sometimes you don’t know whether time like this would come, I didn’t see this coming but it is the most precious thing I have ever achieved,” said Niyo Bosco.

"I’ve been working on this day and, thanks to God, people supported me.

The couple has strictly made their relationship private to the media until September 9 when Niyo Bosco posted a photo of Mukamisha on his Instagram account to celebrate her birthday and at the same time made their relationship official.

Details about their wedding haven’t been confirmed yet.

He rose to fame after the release of his first track 'Ubigenza Ute' in 2022 and went on to release hits like Piyapuresha, Ishyano, Seka, Urugi and many more.

Niyo remains one of the best singers and lyricists in the history of the Rwandan music industry.
