APR opened the scores in the 39th minute through center back Clement Niyigena before KMC equalized with one minute left to go for recess, thanks to Erick Edson.

APR finished the group stage with seven points, level with KMC but the former lead the group with a better goal difference ahead of KMC.

Rayon held at Women’s CECAFA

Meanwhile, in women’s CECAFA clubs’ tournament taking place in Kenya, Rayon Sports WFC kept their hopes to advance to CECAFA semifinals after playing a goalless draw with Burundi’s Top Girls on Monday.

Rayon Sports WFC defeated CBE of Ethiopia 2-1 in the first match, and were confident of performing well against Top Girls to continue leading Group B. However, the Burundian champions gave them a hard challenge as the result put the Blues’ semifinal qualification on hold.

Getting a ticket to the semifinals will depend on the outcomes from the final group clash which will pit CBE of Ethiopia, who sit bottom with 0 points, against Top Girls who have one point.
