NYAMASHEKE – Gacaca judges need to exhibit integrity in their daily activities in order to command respect in society, the Executive Secretary of the National Gacaca Jurisdiction, Domitila Mukantaganzwa has said.
She made the remarks on Tuesday at a function organized to officially close Gacaca courts in some sectors of Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts.
She asked the sectors that have not summed up their Gacaca operation to complete before the end of the year.
In Rusizi district Gacaca closed shop in the sectors of Bweyeye, Gitambi, Gikundamvura, Nzahaha, Nyakabuye and Gashonga. While is Nyamasheke the sectors are Shangi, Nyabitekeri, Macuba, Cyato, Rangiro and Kirimbi.
The Gacaca judges were awarded with various prizes including medals in appreciation of their work.
