BUGESERA – School administrators from primary and secondary schools hope to improve on their management style following a training being offered by MINEDUC with support from the Belgian government. BUGESERA – School administrators from primary and secondary schools hope to improve on their management style following a training being offered by MINEDUC with support from the Belgian government.
While opening the 5-day workshop in Bugesera district recently, Theodore Mboneza an education inspector, said the ministry is committed to improving school management capacities in secondary and primary schools.
"It’s projected that from 2008 to 2010 all heads of secondary schools will be trained in school management and ICT,” he said. Mboneza said 30 pilot schools have been selected as centers of reference.
The knowledge gained from the training will be integrated in their day-today running and management of schools, he added.
The workshop attracted over 30 participants from Nyamashekye, Karongi and Bugesera district.
Participants cited heavy workload and lack of a defined framework as some the challenges faced.
