The centre, which was holding its fourth graduation ceremony, is supported by Joint Aid Management International (JAM) an International NGO based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
MUHANGA - Seventy six orphans at Fred Nkunda Life Centre last week graduated after completing a two-year course in different vocational skills.
The centre, which was holding its fourth graduation ceremony, is supported by Joint Aid Management International (JAM) an International NGO based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Presiding over the graduation, the country representative of JAM, Doreen Nkunda advised the granduates to use the knowledge and skills attained "to create jobs while serving to attain self sufficiency and contribute to the country’s development within their respective communities.’
According to the centre’s administration, the courses offered are also designed to give the orphans a chance to continue pursuing higher studies upon completion.
The centre started its activities in March 1995, targeting mainly children orphaned by the Genocide against the Tusti.
Emerita Nyirarudodo, the officer in-charge of social affairs in Shyogwe sector, lauded the institution for its role in education, capacity building and development.
She encouraged the graduates to be patriotic citizens and play a leading role in transforming the country.
