World Cup trophy coming

AN exhibition game between two Amavubi select sides has been tabled for November 10, the day when the long-awaited authentic FIFA World Cup trophy lands in Rwanda.

Today, the world’s most coveted trophy touches down in Namibia’s capital Windhoek; after a four-day tour in Angola.

From Namibia, it will head to Zambia, the 35th African country to host it.

This year’s trophy tour is the longest ever with FIFA and Coca-Cola taking the gold trophy to 86 countries over 225 days.

It is awarded to the winning nation at each World Cup tournament.

The winners retain it until the next tournament and are awarded a replica that is gold plated rather than solid gold.
