Officials in Bugesera district recently concluded a 5-day training on project management that aimed at giving them the basic ideas on establishing and maintaining appropriate projects.

Residents celebrate cooperative’s achievements

Members of ‘Twiyubake’ cooperative in Kibirizi sector, Gisagara district on Sunday celebrated the impact the cooperative has had on their lives since its establishment.
Twiyubake is a cooperative that produces alcohol from the bananas.

It was established after the district banned the consumption of illicit brew within the district.

MINAGRI to release land consolidation guidelines

The Ministry of Agriculture will soon release guidelines to be followed by farmers during land consolidation.

This was revealed by Minister Agnes Kalibata following complaints from farmers that the exercise was not fully communicated to them.

According to the farmers, land consolidation has always contradicted with other policies like the type of farming they carry out.

The minister said that once out, the guidelines will resolve some of the issues raised by the residents.

Hotel standards to be launched

Guidelines for standards criteria for classification of accommodation, restaurants and other tourist facilities, will be launched on today to conform with other East African States.

The standards were developed in a move to provide a roadmap that is crucial in gauging quality assurance of service provision for visitors to the region.

Gacaca judges arrested over corruption

Police on Monday arrested three Gacaca judges in Gatsata cell in Nyarugenge district over corruption.

The trio was arrested after it tried to receive a bribe from convicted genocide suspects.

Police officials said they are still investigating the matter.
