Teacher held for cohabiting with a student

RWAMAGANA – Police in Rwamagana District have arrested a teacher at Rwamagana Secondary School who has been cohabiting with an 18-year old student from another school.

Robert Murindahabi, a biology teacher had stayed with Vumilia Niwemukiza, for two months after she escaped from St. Theresa Secondary School.

The Rwamagana Secondary School headmaster, Everest Banzubaze, confirmed the arrest.

"Police arrested the teacher after confirming that he has been cohabiting with a girl meant to be in school. The girl’s parents tipped off security organs who swang into action,” he said.

The headmistress of St. Theresa Secondary School Teddy Nyanawumunu, told The New Times that school authorities informed the girl’s parents after the student had escaped from school.
