Tomislav is set to sign a new two-year deal

OBRADOVIC Tomislav has been retained as Amavubi’s U-20 (Junior Wasps) head coach.

According to Jean Pierre Karabaranga, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of sports and culture (Minispoc), the Croat has been handed a two-year contract extension after receiving good support from the national football federation (Ferwafa).

"He received good backing from Ferwafa and will now sign a new contract,” Karabaranga said.

Tomislav’s new contract however comes with greater obligations.

On top of being tasked to qualify Rwanda to the 2011 African Youth Championship and guiding the U-23 national team to the 2012 London Games, the Croat will be in charge of the Amavubi Stars when they compete in next year’s Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) and Challenge Cup.

The Croat took over as Junior Wasps head coach back in 2007.

Early this year, he failed to steer Rwanda past the group stages on the African Youth Championship which were eventually won by Ghana.

He also hard a difficult time in Beirut after witnessing his team fail to qualify past the preliminary stage of the Francophone Games.
