THE National junior football women team was yesterday given a huge boost after play maker Shadia Uwamahirwe was passed fit for Saturday’s crunch 2011 World Cup qualifier against Uganda.

The 14-year-old, who was influential in AS Kigali’s run to the title last season, missed the first tie after suffering a leg injury in the build up to the clash.

The team’s assistant coach Grace Nyinawumuntu couldn’t hide her joy at having the creative midfielder back in the team.

"She is 100% fit and will start training today. We had to change the tactics shortly before the first leg; because of her injury and that is why we struggled in midfield,” she noted.

"But she is now back, and it looks like we shall have our first eleven for the return leg.”  The Ugandan team is due to arrive in Kigali on Thursday.
