The indomitable lions coach made the remarks on his return from Kisumu where APR lifted the Kenyatta Day tournament after ousting Kenya’s basketball giants KPA in the rain interrupted final (42-30).
"It’s all over as far as this year’s league race is concerned. We finished the regular season unbeaten and from what I hear, that was enough to give us our fourth title in five years,” the former Kenyan international said.
Owuor who joined APR in 2005 is chasing for his fourth league title after guiding the club to the 2005, 2006 and 2008 league titles.
Similar to last season, APR finished this year’s regular season unscathed. The army-side won all their 14 league fixtures to finish off with 28 points.
Marine came second on 24points after losing to APR home and away.Espoir, whose last silverware came back in 2004 are in third place with 20 points, four clear of CSK in fourth spot.
"We have worked hard in practice and during matches to win all league fixtures. Now we are focusing on the Fiba-Africa Club Championship in December,” Cliff said.
The championship, which is expected to attract Africa’s top basketball clubs, will be hosted at Kigali’s Amahoro Indoor stadium.
