According to a statement issued by RURA, the new prices will take effect on Tuesday, July 2, 2025, at 6:00 a.m.

The maximum retail price for gasoline (petrol) will increase from Rwf1,633 to Rwf1,803 per litre, an increase of Rwf170.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel (automotive gasoil) will rise from Rwf1,647 to Rwf1,757 per litre, marking Rwf110 increase. This is the first adjustment in fuel prices since February this year.

"For the next two months, effective 2 July 2025, 6:00 a.m., the maximum retail prices for petroleum products, inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT), have been revised,” reads part of the official announcement.

To cushion the impact on consumers, the statement added that the Government of Rwanda has taken steps to mitigate the increase in pump prices by maintaining adequate fuel reserves and pursuing prudent economic management.
