NYARUGURU- Police in Kibeho are holding a 17-year old boy for allegedly defiling his 8- year old cousin.

The boy, names withheld, resident of Ngero Sector was caught red-handed by the victims’ father; Jean Paul Ntirenganya on Monday October 5 at around 3 o’clock.

"I caught him in the act,” said a furious Ntirenganya.
Ntirenganya said that after apprehending the suspect with support from neighbours, they alerted the police and had him arrested.

Talking to The New Times, the boy however, denied any wrong doing.

"I don’t know why I was arrested , it is only results from medical examinations that will clear the air,” he said.

According to Andrew Maniraho, the Executive Secretary of Ngero sector, such cases are rare in the sector.

"This is the first such case we have registered in the last three months,” the official said.
