Game 1

APR HC 25-26 Police HC

Police HC edged arch rivals APR HC 26-25 at Petit Stade on Friday, May 24, to take Game 1 of the national handball league finals.

Star forward Yves Kayijamahe scored two important goals late in the game to help the law enforcers lead the series 1-0. His 12 goals were crucial to giving his side the first win in the best-of-five finals series.

Police were leading 12-11 at the break but APR returned aggressively in the second half. However, Antoine Ntabanganyimana’s men fought back to narrowly win the encounter.

Police HC are up for a revenge against the side that took the title away from them last season but one victory won’t be enough to achieve their mission. The winner will have to win three games in the best-of-five series to be crowned champions.

Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, at 8pm at Petit Stade.
