THE TOUCH : Stay warm

It’s October, which means you have probably been going through last year’s sweater collection that has been long ignored throughout the warm months that are now long gone. Yes, it’s the wet season yet again calling us to reconnect with our warm outfits but who says wearing sweaters should be a fashion smudge. Sweaters could look and seem as beautiful as any classy top.

The key to wearing sweaters is being keen on size. Women seem to live in some misguided views that every sweater has too be a big sized one, and hence most won’t go for smaller flattering sizes.

We all believe the bigger the warmer when it comes to sweaters. However, slim tight fitting sweaters can be equally warm and more appealing.

Since we are now living in the age of ‘skinny’, a skinny sweater is an asset every woman should embrace. They come in all flashy colours and are ideal to be matched up with skinny jeans or gypsy skirts.

The beauty of skinny sweaters is their awesome accentuation of a woman’s curves. When buying a skinny sweater it’s always advisable to wear a size bigger so that the sleeves are not too tight.

Tight sleeves don’t flatter anyone’s upper arms. It just makes one seem like they have been squeezed into a tube.

In addition, a bigger size also prevents bra outlines showing across your back. Skinny sweaters can be matched with belts to deliver a formal look to take you to work or any other formal event.

Turtlenecks are also ideal for this season; they are an exquisite apparel to wear to match up with a skirt or skinny trousers. V-necks are best for more voluptuous figures just as round necks are suitable for smaller body frames.

Sweaters can be matched with different coloured scarves to keep you warm and to create an even more beautiful finish.

A scarf adds an air of fashionable to a plain looking sweater, by adding volume around your head and shoulders making your body look leaner.

Not to mention that they keep your neck warm. Knit sweaters are ideal for this season as they are extra warm and can work with almost anything.

This season choose to be beautifully warm, by choosing a sweater that suits your body type and will ensure you are comfortably warm all day.
