Kiyovu, who host AS Rutsiro on Friday at Pele Stadium, have endured a tough season, spending much of the first round in the relegation zone.

Speaking ahead of the match, Nzeyurwanda expressed belief in their ability to finish strong.

"We can finish among the top six teams if we manage to win two games and draw one. That would be a big improvement,” the shot-stopper said.

"We had a poor start, conceding many goals, but we've slowly turned things around. Now we need to keep winning,” he added.

Kiyovu, one of Rwanda’s oldest football clubs, has not lifted the league title since 1993. They currently sit in 10th place with 34 points. A win over Rutsiro would take them to eighth with 37 points.

Since Senegalese tactician Malick Wade took over as head coach, Kiyovu's form has significantly improved. In his last nine league matches, he has guided the team to seven wins, one draw, and just one loss, scoring 11 goals and conceding only five.
