Second half goals from substitute Adama Bagayogo and forward Abeddy Biramahire helped Rayon Sports move back to the top of the Rwanda Premier League with a 2-0 win over Muhazi United at Ngoma Stadium on Saturday. The win means a lot for interim coach Claude Rwaka who took over on Monday following the suspension of Brazilian gaffer Robertinho Oliveira as it will put pressure on title rivals APR FC who dropped to second ahead of Sunday’s clash with Etincelles at Kigali Pele Stadium. It was a game of high intensity as Muhazi United initially controlled the midfield. Their skipper Joseph Sackey and Potty Masimango who sat in front of the back four were so combative as they put the brakes on Kevin Muhire and their former teammate Richard Ndayishimiye. Rayon, finding it difficult to play through the middle, switched to the flanks where they were more effective. Hadji Iraguha and Elenga Junior on both flanks were kept at bay by Muhazi defense as they couldn't cope with their pace. The duo whipped in some delightful balls which were all wasted as the first half came to an end. Coach Rwaka brought on Bagayogo for Junior Elenga in the 64th minute and the Malian netted with his first touch of the game as he bundled home a free kick from Omborenga Fitina to make it 1-0 in the 65th minute. After the second goal, Rayon totally took control of the game as they held on to win the encounter by a 2-0 scoreline. Rayon are now on top of the league table with 50 points.
