The Business Development Services (BDS) an umbrella body of private businesses established by the Private Sector Federation (PSF) has said it is now focusing being on being action oriented than playing an advisory role.

The body was established by PSF to help rural business people expand their business knowledge.

Manzi Antoine, the Director Entrepreneurship Development and Business Growth at PSF said that they want to provide wider markets, create accounting systems and provide materials that may be useful to the businesses.

This was revealed on Monday this week during the opening of a five day training of seventeen BDS officials.

"We want businesses to be action oriented where they will learn to make their own business plans instead of making it for them,” said Manzi.

Rwanda PSF provides businesses with information that is relevant for business growth.

The BDS program that started with four BDS centres in the country has grown to seventeen centres and the target is to have one centre in every district by 2012.

According to the federation, after six months every BDS will be required to give to a report on how he has helped the business grow.
