DEFENDING champions APR and Kigali Volleyball Club made light work of Nonas and UNR to storm the finals of this year’s Coupe du Rwanda. The finals are scheduled for Sunday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

APR, who were playing against Nonas (a select side of former national team players), raced through in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-18).

In the other semi-final, KVC defied the home advantage theory when they registered a 3-1 set victory over hosts National University of Rwanda (UNR).

KVC took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-21 but UNR fought back to take the third set (18-25). Jean Marie Nsengiyumva’s side finished off the job with a 25-23 victory in the fourth set.

The women final will pit APR with Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA).

The men’s category attracted nine teams; APR, KVC, UNR, Kigali Institute of Education (KIE), Petit Seminaire de Butare, Christ Roi (CXR), Nonas and Nyamagabe while APR, RRA, UNR, Ruhango and St.Esprit Nyanza made the women fray.
